Our Self Defense classes teach you how to defend yourself by building on your body’s natural reactions to being attacked and giving you the tools – and the strength – to disarm and defeat your opponents. As you train, you’ll build stamina and hone your reflexes until you are a fighting machine.

There are no belts, ranks, equipment, or uniforms associated with this program. The techniques taught are designed to be effective while wearing every day clothing, thus, participants are encouraged to arrive in regular clothing.

Practical Self-Defense at its Best
Students learn about attacker psychology, how to verbally end dangerous situations, the power of emotion and keys to fight psychology.
One of the hardest things about learning self-defense is overcoming your natural instincts to learn new moves.
The techniques we teach work with those instincts – such as bringing your hands up to protect your face – and turns them into powerful moves that allow you to defend yourself and drive attackers away.
You’ll learn to use the tools you have and combine them with traditional martial arts and other forms of fighting.

My entire family earned black belts at West Family Martial Arts, my two boys in 2013 and my wife and I in 2014.
